Project Overview

The objective of this project was to creatively integrate the client’s logo into the set design while providing an innovative visual experience that made the DJ appear as if they were performing within a television screen. This concept aimed to engage the audience visually and enhance the overall atmosphere of the event.

Set Design and Implementation

To achieve this vision, the client constructed a large screen that served as the focal point of the stage. We incorporated a thin mesh scrim to cover the aperture of the screen, effectively allowing the DJs to “disappear” during their performance. This illusion was accomplished by utilizing PAR lights and strategic projections that interacted with the scrim, creating a seamless integration of the DJ and visual content.

The client requested a minimalist approach, with only the performing DJ’s alias displayed at the top portion of the screen. The visual content included dynamic effects layers, various "no signal" screens, and newsreel footage to create an engaging backdrop.

Lighting and Effects

For this event, we deployed an array of lighting and visual effects, including:

• Three lasers: Two at 3W and one at 10W

• Four Color Strike M strobes

• Four ADJ RX1s

• Two dual cell blinders

Originally, we planned to position the Color Strike strobes running up the center of the room. However, this plan was adjusted to prevent obstruction of the projectors' line of sight, ensuring an unobstructed view of the projected visuals.

Technical Setup

The entire setup was meticulously modeled using 3D software to visualize the spatial arrangement and optimize the design. All lighting and video content were controlled through the Avolites system, ensuring precise coordination throughout the event. Video content was managed using MadMapper, while the lasers were controlled with Beyond software. To streamline the operation, all triggers were executed through Avolites, allowing for seamless transitions and enhancing the overall production quality.

This project successfully combined innovative design elements with cutting-edge technology to create a captivating event experience. By carefully considering the client's vision and employing advanced production techniques, we delivered a visually stunning performance that resonated with the audience and elevated the event's atmosphere.
